If you’ve got cheap holidays in mind for this year, there are plenty of ways to cut the cost of going away without compromising on value.
Firstly, consider the type of holiday you’re after. If you like to get out and about during your stay, visiting different areas and trying new experiences, a self-catering or bed and breakfast board basis would probably work best for you. These often work out a little cheaper than half or full board arrangements too, which helps to keep the booking costs down.
If however you prefer to stay close to your hotel, relaxing around the pool and spending your days lazing on the beach or building sandcastles with the kids, an all inclusive board basis would suit you down to the ground. This style of hotel arrangement is hugely popular and is available in many locations across the world – from Thailand and Cuba to all inclusive Greece holidays. All inclusive means that all of your meals, snacks and drinks are included in the cost of your holiday, so you don’t have to fork out for expensive evening meals or keep buying snacks for the kids throughout the day.
Whichever style of holiday you choose, you can save money on your booking by keeping an eye out for tour operators’ deals and discounts. Late bookings are a particularly good way of saving money. As the departure date nears, tour operators will often slash the prices of their package holidays in order to sell off the last few packages. Look out for great deals a few weeks prior to the departure date, but be quick – availability is limited and some of the last few packages may easily get snapped up by other eagle-eyed holidaymakers.
Whatever you fancy, there are plenty of deals and discounts out there to help make things that little bit easier and to give you that extra special holiday.
